Dragon Kiln replicates the intricate physics of traditional wood-fired ceramic kilns with unprecedented accuracy. The simulation engine calculates heat distribution across 127 individual temperature zones within the kiln chamber, each responding dynamically to wood placement, airflow adjustments, and firing duration. Every ceramic piece placed inside experiences unique thermal gradients that affect glaze behavior, clay body transformation, and final coloration.

The wood combustion system models six distinct fuel types—pine, oak, bamboo, cedar, maple, and cherry—each contributing different heat curves, ash deposits, and atmospheric effects. Players must master the balance between oxidation and reduction atmospheres by controlling three independent damper systems and two stoking ports. Temperature progression follows authentic firing schedules from 200°C initial warming through bisque firing at 900°C to final stoneware maturation at 1280°C.

Advanced glaze chemistry simulates 43 historical glaze recipes including celadon, tenmoku, shino, and ash glazes. Each formula reacts differently to peak temperature, cooling rate, and kiln atmosphere, producing effects like copper red reduction, iron crystallization, and natural ash deposits. The kiln loading puzzle challenges spatial reasoning as vessels must be stacked efficiently while maintaining proper heat circulation and preventing glaze fusion between pieces.
